Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi formally inaugurated and dedicated to the Nation the Hollong Modular Gas Processing Plant (HMGPP), Dirok Field, Assam on February 09, 2019.
The HMGPP which has the capacity to process 35 mmscfd of gas (15% of Assam gas production) and 800 barrels of condensate being produced from the Dirok field is located in Margherita, Tinsukia District of Assam. Modular, innovative and standardized design of this plant, a first of its kind in India, enabled fast-track delivery of the project.
Dirok Field (Block AAP-ON-94/1) is being developed in phases by the Operator of the block Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited (HOEC) along with JV partners Oil India Limited (OIL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC).
Dirok field development included drilling of 6 development wells, the Hollong Modular Gas Processing Plant and pipelines. The project was successfully delivered in a record time of 27 months on a fast-track basis with the full support of State and Central Governments.
The gas produced from this field is being supplied to critical consumers in the North-East region including Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL).
Dirok field is being developed on the core principles of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility.
The Gas Gathering Station is zero emissions and zero flare, with remote generation of power using underground cables to minimize air and noise pollution.
Proactive engagement with the local community was initiated early in the project cycle. Community development activities have been tailored to meet local needs. Setting up solar lamps in Aughbandha and Lekhajan villages, classroom construction in Powai, training in use of sewing machines to women, construction of village access road are some of the CSR projects completed.
Under Development Phase II, Dirok JV plans to drill 4 new wells, expand Hollong Modular Gas Processing Plant and build a 35 km long pipeline to connect to the Gas marketing hub at Duliajan. When completed, gas production will increase over 50% from 35 mmscfd to 55 mmscfd.
